Common questions
Why are my Live Photos not playing in the gallery?
Loops pause while you scroll or zoom and start again once the gallery settles. From 5 columns up, tiles show stills only, so pinch in to 1 or 3 columns. On mobile data or in Low Data Mode, only Live Photos already on your device play in the gallery; tap one to download and play it.
Why don't all my photos appear?
Edit Live shows only Live Photos, the ones that keep a second and a half of video around the shutter. Regular photos, screenshots and videos stay out of the gallery. To take Live Photos, keep the Live button in the Camera app turned on.
How do I allow access to my photos?
Open Settings, choose Edit Live, then Photos. Select Full Access, or change the photos you've selected. If you gave access to selected photos only, you can also tap Choose Photos in Edit Live's Settings.
Why does a Live Photo take a moment to play?
If it is stored in iCloud Photos, it has to download first. Keep your device online and leave Edit Live open. Clips you have already watched play straight away.
Does Edit Live change my Live Photos?
No. Looks and borders are applied as Edit Live plays your photos. Saving creates a new video in your library and leaves the originals as they were.
How do I make a video from several Live Photos?
Tap Select, then tap the clips in the order they should play. Tap Preview combined video to open the editor, where you can change speed, reorder, trim, and choose a look, then Save or Share.
What if saving doesn't finish?
Make sure Edit Live may add to your library (Settings, Edit Live, Photos) and your device has free space. If trimming is on, every clip must be longer than one second. If it still fails, email us with the message you saw.
